How we got here
Atlanta Amputee Soccer was born out of the inaugural U.S. Soccer ADAPTandTHRIVE Leadership Course in December 2023. While attending to support the participants, co-founder Katie George connected with individuals who shared a vision for increased accessibility in soccer, including U.S. Men's Amputee Soccer National Team player Jovan Booker. Jovan's vision for creating regional amputee soccer programs inspired Katie to bring that vision to life in Atlanta.
In February 2024, physical therapist Daniel Copeland met U.S. Men's Amputee Soccer National Team players Jovan Booker and Nico Calabria at the National PT Conference. Shortly after, the connections were made and the program began to take shape. As an official member of the American Amputee Soccer Association, Atlanta Amputee Soccer officially launched and hosted its first clinic in June 2024.

Today we run recreational and competitive pathways, our roster has grown into the double digits, we host year-round practices, and we have already sent a player to a National Team camp. We are still building — and there is room for you on this roster.
